The Great American Stampede

September 5th & 6th!

Gates open at 5 PM and The Great American Stampede Rodeo will start at 7 PM!

Welcome to the Cedar City Lions Club / SUU Great American Stampede Rodeo.  This Rodeo is a highlight event held the first weekend after Labor Day in September at The Crosshollows Event Center in Cedar City.  Founded in 2001 by Lions Club members, Rodger Chambers and Ira Schoppmann, the Lions Club joined forces with the SUU College Rodeo Team in 2009.

As a National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association event, The Great American Stampede Rodeo provides college students within the Rocky Mountain Region, which includes southern Idaho, Utah and western Colorado, the opportunity to compete while attending college and university.

While this rodeo features the traditional events, it also includes such entertaining events as Mutton Busting, a Patriotic Grand Entry, Rodeo Clown act and a Top 5 NFR Specialty Act.  Come and enjoy some good, ol’ family friendly entertainment….we’ll see ya’ll at the rodeo!!
